It is hard to believe that the month of May is already here. This year is flying by! Summer is right around the corner. My son, Micah is already asking me if I will take him to the water slides! He can’t wait for them to open next month.
May I encourage you and your family as the summertime approaches to stay connected in church. I know when the weather gets warmer that we are easily tempted to skip church and do other summer things. I get it! But may I encourage you not to take a vacation from God this summer, but stay connected to Him. Most pastors accept the fact that many people in their congregation are just going to skip church in the summer and come back when school starts. This fact is widely accepted in the Christian church but should it be? In all humility, I don’t think it should. And that is why I want to encourage you to stay connected to God this summer and stay involved in church this summer. Again, God does not want us to take a vacation from Him this summer, but stay connected to Him.
You and your family are invited to join us, for Homecoming on May 7th at the 11:00 a.m. service. This is a special time in the life of Long’s Chapel Church and we would be honor with your presence. After the service, please make plans to join us for lunch, trust me you will be happy you did! You and your family won’t be disappointed with the lunch and you won’t go home hungry.
Also, coming up on May 21st at the 11:00 a.m. service we are hosting the Blue Grass band, Strings of Faith. If you and your family enjoy Blue Grass music you will love Strings of Faith. And as an added bonus, I will not be preaching this Sunday (please do not cheer) so we can give more time for great Blue Grass music. I hope you and your family can join us.
We always have exciting things coming up at Long’s Chapel Church. Please refer to the church website and bulletin for all pertinent information.
If you do not have a church home we would love for you to join us on Sunday mornings at Long’s Chapel Christian Church for worship. We are proud to offer two services to choose from: 8:30 a.m. (contemporary) or 11:00 a.m. (traditional). We look forward you worshipping our Lord with us! I hope you walk in a manner worthy of the Lord.
