Hello friends! October is here! I just love the month of October? Why you may ask.  A few reasons why: 1) Golf is cheaper and the course is not so busy, praise Jesus!  2)  I love seeing the leaves change color on the trees.  I don’t enjoy raking up the leaves, but I do enjoy seeing them change colors, ha-ha.  To me the season of fall always reminds me of the glory of God and how awesome our God is! 3) I love the cooler weather which means I can start wearing again my favorite sweat shirts.  I miss wearing them during the summer!  4) The weather is getting cooler and that means only one thing that college football has started.  And that makes me happy!!

We have some wonderful things coming up in October!

Wednesday Night Bible Study has resumed.  Please come and join us from 6:15-7:15 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for Bible Study.  During the month of October we will be learning and studying from the book of 2 Corinthians.  Please join us for fellowship and good discussion as we discuss practical ways to apply the Bible to our daily lives.

Long’s Chapel Church is still collecting the following items for our neighbors affected by the recent hurricanes: water bottles, paper products and diapers.  Please bring your donated items and drop them off in the fellowship hall. If you would like to make a financial donation, please make your check payable to our church and write on the memo line, "God's Pit Crew." Thank you so much for your help.

You and your family are invited to join us on Sunday, October 22 at 11:00 a.m. for Harvest Sunday! Perhaps you are wondering what is Harvest Sunday? When the farmer’s crop came to harvest, they were grateful to God what He provided.  To show their gratitude to God they would always give back to God their tithe from the harvest.  And they would always give back to God, gratefully.  The Bible says even today when we give our tithe to the Lord that God loves a cheerful and grateful giver.  A special offering will be collected during the service.  This offering goes to help a certain need in the church.  However, this is a responsibility from our church members and not of our guests.  If you are guest, please come and join us for worship and immediately after the service, we will have a covered dish lunch in the fellowship hall.  If you are a guest we have your lunch covered, I hope you will be able to join us.

We have some wonderful things coming up this October such as Trunk or Treat for our youth! Please refer to the church bulletin, church Facebook page and church website for this and all other upcoming activities that you don’t want to miss!

If you have no church home we would love for you to join us on Sunday mornings at Long’s Chapel Christian Church for worship.  We are proud to offer two services to choose from: 8:30 a.m. (contemporary) and 11:00 a.m. (traditional). We look forward to having you worshipping our Lord with us!

Blessings,

RJ
