Hello friends! It is hard to believe that summer is almost over and fall is just around the corner. Where did summer go? My family and I have had a wonderful summer! Monica and I have spent a lot of time this summer taking our son, Micah to the new splash park in Burlington, NC.  Micah loves the new splash park! He just loves to play in the water and being outdoors playing with kids.

My family and I also went on a ten day summer vacation this past July.  We started our vacation by traveling to Oak Island, NC.  One of the highlights of our trip to Oak Island was going on a boat ride on the Intracoastal Waterway.  This was Micah’s first boat ride and he loved it. It brought such joy to my heart seeing Micah smile during the boat ride. We concluded our ten day vacation traveling back home to Akron, Ohio (Home of LeBron James) visiting family and friends.  It was wonderful seeing family and friends and spending time with them.

With summer almost over, my family and I are now shifting gears and getting Micah ready for Kindergarten. Micah will be attending Stoney Creek Elementary School in Caswell County. It will be an emotional day at my house on the first day of Kindergarten! I just hope Micah is not late on his first day of school with all the pictures that Monica and I plan on taking!

Long’s Chapel Church has some wonderful things planned this August before summer ends: On Friday, August 12th, Long’s Chapel is planning to go to Faith and Family Night (Baseball Game, Burlington Royals). The evening will include personal testimonies from the Burlington Royals players, Christian Music, followed by a Royals baseball game.  For more information please contact me at zupancichrj@yahoo.com.  On Sunday August 14 we are having a church picnic at Camp Deer Lake in Mebane, NC. The picnic will begin at 11:00 a.m. and end around 2 p.m. We will be playing basketball, volleyball, fishing and going on boat rides. There will be no worship services being held at Long’s Chapel on August 14. The picnic is free! I hope you and your family will be able to join us. Also, we have more events being planned for September and October: movie nights, bible studies, and fall revival. More information will become available on the church website, (www.longschapelchristian.com) in the next few weeks.

If you have no church home we would love for you and come and join us on Sunday mornings at Long’s Chapel Christian Church for worship.  We are proud to offer two services to choose from: 8:30 a.m. (contemporary) or 11:00 a.m. (traditional). We look forward you worshipping our Lord with us!

 Blessings,

 RJ
